Now that the new models have been released...... which one should i get?

Both are priced at $249........
Only wished the nano was cheaper:mad:

I hate paying $249 for 8gb, but then again i like nanos.

i already own a 2gb nano blck.

so any suggestions?

*runs off and lists 2gb ipod nano on ebay

I am a 30gb White user. While I like nanos really much just for the looks I always thought they were overly priced. 30 gb is just sexy! I love it. And I love the feel of it.

Go with the 30 gb...

How much music do you have? Do you care about videos? Will you use the extra 22 GB of data? Do you want a very small nano or a small iPod?

Hope that helps...

I agree. I'm giving my 60GB video to my dad and buying an 8GB, but if it was a 30GB video I wouldn't do it. It's not worth it.

another vote for the 30gb. unless you have a real good reason to want the nano, there's no contest: the full size has more space, bigger screen, more functionality...

Why was my first post deleted?

I said go for the nano, and that I really did not like the fact that you can feel the hard drive spinning on the regular sized iPod.

I say go with the 30gb ipod.

The way I see nano is it's small so it's very convenient to use during exercises, etc. Since you already own a 2gb nano, you can use that.

You can then use the 30gb ipod to store almost all of your music and use it for whatever other reasons.

Hope you make your decision. =]

Do what I did and buy both...(well...I bought an 80GB)

I got a 4 Gig Nano in May, and I think I am going to follow your path. I am going to wait until I can see/touch the 80 gig in the Apple Store.

I'm in a dillema now. Its just like the macbooks :p
PS, i will only have one ipod, so i will have to sell my 2gb nano if i buy a new one

Why the 8gb ipod nano?
1. Small - I got to gym often
2. Aluminium Ahhh - I presume it wont scratch as easily? Never had a mini before
3. Its new and updated, so the next release of nano will maybe be abt 6 months away

Why the 30gb ?
1. Value for $ - $249 for 30gb compared with 8gb
2. Bigger HD space
3. Videos - But i doubt i'll ever use it because there is no itunes store in New Zealand
4. Scratches easily, gonna have to get a tube.
5. Might get updated in 2007?

EDIT: Can i use my 30gb as an external Hard drive? Ie will windows read as a USB drive?

You have a nano. Get the 30GB for sure. GAMES!

I'm finally gonna get my own iPod (i know, i'm the last person on earth to get one) and it's probably gonna be the 30GB new version, perhaps a shuffle too. I'm getting it over the nano purely for the sake of Tetris and Pac-Man.

Not sure if it matters to you, but the 30gig also alows for the edu discount, unlike the new nanos.

EDIT-Strange, the 30 and 80 gigs aren't either.

I didn't know the nanos are more like minis now! That's a downside for me. Never liked the way minis looked. 5G iPods are the height of cool get the 30 gb. My friend has a 60 gb and I was rather hesitant about gettin 30 gb. The different thichkness looks unimportant on paper but in real life 60 gb feels clumsy.
Go with the 30 gb.

Now that nano's are upto 8gb, it would make a nice complement with my digi camera for some extra emergency space. Anyone know if the camera adapter stuff you can get for the full size ipod will work with a nano?

I'd go for the Nano. I have two 4g 20gig Ipods that the hard drives have failed on them. I like the stability of the Nanos and flash drives as opposed to spinning hard drives. If you do get the 30gig, get an Apple service plan in case the Ipod gets bumped around too much and the HD fails.

Yes. The mac can read ipods formatted to windows and mac while the windoze can only read that so format it to windows and it will work.
