32 or 64bit XP on vmware on leopard?

hi
i have a brand new macbook.
and i have a windows xp service pack 2 desktop pc and lots of compatible software for that.

im gonna put vmware fusion on my mac and windows.

but i dont know whether i should put 64bit xp or 32bit xp on.....
whats the basic difference?

how do i tell what my old pc desktop is?

Main advantage to x64 is that it can address more physical RAM (more than 4GB), you will likely see no other advantage to x64 especially in a VM.

Windows historically does not specify 32 bit version of windows, its just assumed that if it does NOT specify x64, that its 32 bit. You can check by right clicking on my computer and clicking properties. 32bit version just says "Microsoft Windows XP"

64bit XP isn't really that useful as it's not supported by some applications and will not provide any benefits on a VM.

yeah the software i use says to use 32bit systems anyway....so yeah.

im just gonna start a new thread about my not so good first experience with vmware fusion on a mac......

Unless you need to test 64bit or have specific need, no advantage to installing it in vmware.
