I have different things taking up space on my iPhone but other is taking up 5gb how do i figure that out?

32gb iphone 4s "other" taking up 5.1gb?

Most of that will be caches and junk that have built up. Do a full restore to get rid of a lot of it 
I had about 3gb of 'other' on my 16gb iPhone 4 and did a full restore/reset. The second I started syncing photos the 'other' shot up. Using iexplorer I saw about 1gb of thumbnail files. So really, I think (in my very limited knowledge) that to a certain extent at least we just have to put up with it (?)
