I thinking of getting the base studio, I be upgrading for a 24" iMac w/16GB of ram. My usages are general computing, Lightroom & Photoshop (24MP camera) and for fun Xplane12. I am happy with the iMac performance with the first 2 uses and looking forward to some upgraded performance with Xplane12. I thinking 32GB should be plenty for the next few years. Am I correct?

32GB should give you some welcome "breathing room" for almost any use. I consider 32GB RAM to be the best option for virtually all users. People who actually need more are well aware of what they need and generally don't even consider a computer that can't handle 64GB and up.
