Its not bad -for CS5. Ive toyed with it but haven't been able to get the 3D results ive wanted, i think its good as a quick fix, or something to use to give more depth to 2D work but for me (just my own experience) much better results can be achieved, and probably quicker by using a dedicated 3D program, ie C4D which has a nice learning curve for new users.

Seems like a decent quick mock-up, but the words and graphics on the can don't seem to "wrap" like they should.

In regards to CS5 capabilities, can you now take that can and rotate it to see other angles?

Yep. I still would never consider using a product of CS5's 3d engine as the primary object though. Works pretty good for secondary or supporting elements but it still pales in comparison to Maya, max or c4d.

You can. In fact, I'm pretty sure that "can" is one of the objects you can automatically generate from inside CS5. I know it does all the basics like cylinders, cones, spheres, cubes, but I'm pretty sure it has a few extras.

yeah this was just a quick mock up like most my portfolio work, i mock stuff up and then over time go back and add a fresh perspective to them.

Try the stretch/distort tool in Photoshop, it means you'll be able to add some artificial depth to the text. A slight shine to the can with subtle drop shadow below wouldn't hurt either...
