Hi everyone,

I am in the market for a 3D graphic application. I will be doing modeling on it. I also need an application that runs on mac and I need it to be compatable with final cut studio. (Final Cut Pro, Motion)

What applications are compatable with that software suite?

Thanks for your help!!

I use cinema 4D. I have tried a few and found it the easiest to get to grips with and get decent results pretty quickly. It can export quicktime movies and panoramas and also motion compatible files including alpha channels, its a really excellent app and it is the most stable program i have used in a long time.

I have been keeping an eye on modo, and it is quite impressive but i have already spent the money on cimema 4d

It really depends on what you need to do with 3D, one of the main differences with 3D application is the renders so depending on what you need/want you might want to consider the quality of the output that is required for your project.

Blender 3D if you have no money and a bit of time to learn it...

Maya is probably the best option, it does have a steep learning curve however it is versatile and does intergrate very well to other applications.

Cheetah 3D has also got some very good press about what you can do with a cheap 3D application. I haven't used it much but for lower end 3D it might be worth a look.
