Have a 3G on order but I am going to cancel it today and go to the Apple Store and get a 64Gig. The main reason I wanted the 3G for was travelling and checking airport and connection data in the airport. I found that Boingo now has an Ipad specific app, that allows you to buy credits at $1.99 an hour. With this plan, I can just use it to log onto the internet, if there is no free wi-fi at the airport I am at. With my usage pattern of mainly at home and at friend's homes that have wi-fi, I think I will be better off with the 64 Gig Wi-fi model. I know there are reports of Boingo being a little aggressive with their customer service re cancelling etc, but I think they might have cleaned up their act. I also believe AT&T has a pay as you go plan also. I'll be at the Apple store when it opens today!

I don't know how much you plan on using Boingo but 15 hours of $1.99 service is a whole month on ATT 3G.

That app looks to have horible reviews for both not actually working and their customer service. I wouldn't touch that company with a ten foot poll.

Boingo coverage vs. 3G coverage = not even close. ATT may not be great but come on, Boingo is not remotely comparable.

Boingo is awful. I used it at the airport when I traveled last month...first, their sign-up site sucks...kept declining my card even though it was good (and later found half a dozen $1 charges from the trying to authorize). Finally did it on like the seventh try. Then, you have to download their iPhone app. You log on to that, enter your account info, then it tells you you need to open your browser and go to a specific address. You do that, and it tells you you need to use the app. Fiddle with that for a half an hour and you MAY get on the Internet. The whole reason I even did it was so I could download a couple of TV shows from iTunes to watch on the plane. I only got one done (and just barely) because it was the slowest connection I've experienced since moving away from dial-up.

Got the 64gig

First into apple store. Got the 64 gig. I have it in the case and I'm typing with it propped up by the case. It's very handy and I see no need for a bluetooth keyboard for casual typing. I have printed webpages using eurosmartz print central. I'll investigate boingo more.
