3g install 3.0 FW or 3.1.2 ?

what would you guys do? I used to have my old 2g phone on 3.0 and everything was pretty good, no crashes or anything of that nature, the only thing that bugged me was that my battery life would drain pretty quickly. Are there any real benefits of keeping the FW at 3.1.2 or should I go back to trusty 3.0?
