Well I got my 3G IPad on launch day. Went through the account sign-in screens on the cellular tab and accepted the user agreement. Some screen came up indicating it was loading a page then came back with the message "AT&T is not able to process your request. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please try again later. (Q5033).

Well that was 24 hours ago and still no luck. I spend over 3 hours on the phone today to both Apple and AT&T with no luck. You can no longer get into the sign-up screen, as soon as you hit access account it loads the error screen. They had me try to restore the IPad and this made no diffrence. ATT indicates that they see my account partially setup but that some error happened in their system while it was setting up and that they don't know how to fix it. Apple of course points to ATT. There is a thread on the Apple forums about this with a handful of people with the same problem. Anyone have this problem and find a solution?

Sounds like ATT need to delete your account so you can start over. If you restored you device and that did not help then it is up to ATT to help you get aboard.

I like having the 3G but it is slow in comparison to my WiFi. Got the unlimited but after seeing the speed of the 3G I am betting people will not just leave their unit in 3G mode. The sped of WiFi spoils you rather quickly!

Still no 3G

Well after several days, combined 6 hours on the phone, 2 hours at genius bar and an hour at the ATT store where Apple sent me I still have no fix. They even tried a new SIM card. AT&T can't seem to get rid of the account and start the process over. Apple is out of ideas and so is ATT. Once the local Apple store can get some more IPads in stock they will swap mine out. Don't think it's the pad though. Apple store tried a SIM from one of there demo units and it worked fine.

Sending this while onboard a Delta flight. Pretty cool having wifi on planes now.

I'm not sure if our problems are related but there is apparently a huge 3G data outage here in southeast Florida.

Can you call AT&T and check that you have a number assigned to you?

Check yours in Settings > General > About. If you have a number listed, then the system is still updating, otherwise, you need to call AT&T to get the number on your account.

AT&T can force an activation, so you'll need your IMEI number at hand if the above fails. You might want your ICCID number as well.
