Is the radio in a cell phone like a radio in your car, you can just tune it? I'm just wondering why a firmware patch can't change the frequency the radio operates at?

(I would love for the iPhone to run on 1700mhz for T-Mobile USA)

Thanks.

depending the type and the size of, the antena gives you what the frequency range (probably a small range) you get as well the gain
