I have an iPod 3G which I primarily use for music and podcasts while driving. I am thinking of getting a 4G for sometime video and Facetime as several relatives have iPods or iPhones with FT. I am probably going to get an iPad (a 3 if it appears in March). I assume the iPad will serve my purposes while driving, but it doesn't fit in my pocket otherwise. Can't really afford both now unless I can sell the 3G for a decent price. Advice please. Thanks.

If you're getting an 3G (or even 2G) iPad anyway, then probably no need to upgrade the iPod Touch just for FaceTime. In either case you need to have Wifi, so I'm assuming most of the time you'll have the iPad to use for FaceTime.

Same goes for video- it's much better on the iPad, assuming you have your iPad with you in the situations you'd normally be watching video.

If you're really tight on cash, the iPad 2 is still great, you could buy one after the 3 comes out and get a nice price.

Thanks. That seems like to best way to save some money. I can use the iPod in the car when I don't want to carry the iPad. Can you sync your iTunes to both devices so both contain the same music and podcasts?
