Hey, sometimes at work my LTE will drop and my iPhone 8 Plus will switch and try to load stuff in 3g. If I go into cellular in settings, and disable LTE completely at times, will that make 3g work better since the phone is just focusing on using 3g? Thanks!

What do you mean by ‘work better’? It will just mean that your phone will constantly be using 3G. Which might make your experience better as you can expect 3G speeds as opposed to maybe LTE or maybe 3G. But it will not ‘improve’ your 3G connection.

Oh okay. Sometimes the phone will just hang and not load anything and sometimes it will under 3g (barely). Was trying to find a definitive answer as to whether it might make for a more consistent connection. Sprint which has normally been pretty decent for me, is terrible at work lol. Thanks!

When I'm getting 3G instead of LTE I do a network reset (Settings/General/Reset Network Settings). 80% of the time it goes back to the LTE signal.

But don't do this if you don't have the passwords for all of your networks, such as WIFI. You will have to reenter them.

I do that and it stays on LTE maybe for a second or not at all and just reverts back to 3g or the dreaded 1x. I’m guessing maybe if anything my battery would drain less if my phone isn’t constantly trying to get an LTE connection it can’t make.

No need for a network reset, what you can do it put the phone in airplane mode for 30 seconds. After that the phone should connect to LTE or 3G, whichever provides the better connection. You could also try using WiFi and WiFi calling if you're in an area with poor reception.
