I know this wont happen, but really, why not?

In fact, why not offer a 3G or dare i say 4G option on all mac laptops?

Just thought of two reasons actually:

1. Decreased demand for iPad which probably has a much larger margin, especially once people visit the app store.

2. Battery life. With 3G enabled, it would be pretty bad. Obviously that's a sacrifice many people would be wiling to make, but apple might not feel that that's the user experience that they would want from a laptop like the air.

a mac pro with 4G enabled would be a dream of a machine, now i can render 3d videos while browsing at a cafe near my home.

Maybe next refresh, not this one though, plus personally i think it would get rid of the need for an ipad, its way more powerful and can do real computing. All they need is to add a touch screen to it in the nextgen model and possibly a screen that could rotate around.
