3G not hacked, update to iOS4 doesnt recognize sim

ok so.... last night I downloaded the upgrade, it installed, and this morning i wake up to the USB to itunes picture and when I connect.. SIM not supported!

WTH!!! what do I do! I tried recovery mode and nothing.

It looks like iOS4 is on the phone b/c when I slide the emergency slide over it has the bubble background that was in the keynote.

I'm having the EXACT same problem - neither Apple nor AT&T know what to do!
