3g tether capability question

I am interested in buying a one of the new ps3 (slim). I hear they launched today, can I play online (metal of honor series) over my iphones 3g network. Like do I need to buy a router and is it going to be to laggy to have fun?

I heard only 50mb gets transferred per hour so i am not worried about going over my limit. Thanks

iPhone only tethers to a laptop or desktop computer and nothing else. That means, your PS3 Slim is in no chances to get Internet via 3G.

What you can do is tether your laptop (a Mac preferably via Bluetooth or USB) to your iPhone and then create an ad-hoc network to which your PS3 Slim connects and shares the connection via your laptop.

Check the required bandwidth for the PS3 and compare with what AT&T provides and bingo.
