Hi guys.
I’m having trouble trying to unlock an iPhone 3g running 4.2.1 (8C148) and Baseband 05.15.04.
It was given to a friend by the original owner sometime ago, and he now wants to use it, however it has not been factory unlocked and the orig owner's no longer with vodaphone.
I let iTunes update it, I’ve jailbroken with redsn0w win 0.9.15b, (baseband option ticked) installed ultrasn0w 1.2.8 (via cydia)
when I put an SFR based sim in, it ‘searches’ for a network but never finds one. The carrier setting under ‘general/about’ have updated to SFR (automatically)
Have I missed a step somewhere? thanks in advance.

If you read the description, you would see that baseband is not supported by ultrasn0w

You can upgrade to the iPad BB and then downgrade to the 05.13.04 BB

iClarified has tutorials on that.

After that you can unlock with ultrasn0w.

You can also check for an online greymarket IMEI unlock for vodafone.
