3g with yellowsn0w

Hello,
I have an iphone 3G waiting to be unlocked with yellowsn0w but first i need to know if 3G will work with an iphone unlocked with yellowsn0w. FYI i have a 3G service on my simcard with my local carrier..

Yes your 3G will work. Now it depends on your carrier. T-Mobile USA will not work with 3G on. They run on a different band that the iPhone can't use. Your Edge will work with T-Mobile USA.

The yellowsn0w install should not effect your normal carrier at all. It will just allow you to put new sim cards in your phone to use different carriers.
