Woohooooo! I just got the e-mail from Apple saying it got shipped! I went over to FedEx and at 10:43am Cupertino time it got shipped! I got the express shipping because the less time an object is in transit = better luck of being okay. I ordered this, and then I made another order for 4gb RAM, X1900XT, 150gb 10kRPM Raptor and three 500gb Seagates! :D

Code:
Processor 065-6508 3.00 GHz Quad Xeon.
           Memory 065-6358 2GB 667 DDR2 FB DIMM ECC-4x512
Graphics Card 065-6410 NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB
           Hard Drive Bay1 065-6409 250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s drive
           Hard Drive Bay2 065-6742 None
           Hard Drive Bay3 065-6743 None
           Hard Drive Bay4 065-6744 None
Optical Drive 065-6507 2x16x SuperDrive DL
           Wireless Option 065-6140 None
           Modem 065-6455 None
           Fibre Chl Card 065-6285 None
Keyboard Language 065-6287 Apple Keyboard & Mighty Mse
Mac SVR OS Language 065-5988 None
           Apple Software Applications 065-6419None
Mac OS Language 065-6245 Mac OS X
           Country Kit 065-6244 Country Kit

So, I think it'll get here Tuesday. I live near Toronto, Ontario and with express shipping my Nano came within 24hours of being shipped:cool: But, FedEx says my MacPro is 65lbs:eek: She's a beast!

EDIT:

It originally said it would ship by the 15th, so it shipped 3 days early! On a Saturday too:)

EDIT2: I whimped and got 3-500's instead.

Nice, my 2.0 ghz got shipped today as well. It seems they used Sameday instead of FedEx..

What do I plan on doing? Beating the crap out of Mathematica no less! That's what the processing speed and ram is for-simulations and such--flow/fluid dynamics etc etc.

And the massive storage, I have a huge movie collection, plus I'm also cutting video for the local Car Clubs/Competitions and making 3 DVD's this summer & fall. I'm so pumped!

What a killer machine. All you need now is the 30" Cinema Display.

How does it feel to have the entire forum drooling? :D

How much did it cost you for expedited shipping with FedEx to Canada? I'll probably order one in a couple of weeks and I am not sure I want to suffer Sameday's bad service again.

Expedited was $58 including shipping for a Nano. I ordered a Mini via Expedited and it took 2 days, pretty good from California!

ya I should have done that, but the girl on the phone assured me that FedEx would be shipping it either way, except using the slower method... I hope Sameday doesn't mess anything up

Congrats. Sounds like a smokin machine.

I'm hoping for similar in a month or two.

Where did you order the extra hd and ram from? I work in Toronto, so just curios if it is local shop or online.

That's very exciting! When you receive it, can you let us know: where was it made / assembled? My G4 PM was actually made (assembled) in the USA (it's nice to see someone other than Dell and the PC boutiques not go overseas on something from time to time) and I'm curious where Apple is doing its assembly these days for the new Mac Pros.

Nice! So is the 3.0 over the 2.66 that much faster that it made it worth the extra $800?

Now, if you had an X1900 XT, I would be practically twitching right now. Can't wait for mine to ship, that damn GPU is holding it up.

Congrads on a great comp though!

krazo: I've had good luck with both shipping services. It's weird though, sometimes they'll use FedEx and other times Purolator.

zane: with some company discount the actual computer came to just under $4800 CDN, the extra RAM, HD's video card and UPS(powersupply) tacked on another.... ... $3900 CDN:eek: Shoot, damn....I didn't realise.

VanMac: I used pccanada.com for the hard drives and UPS. Then, I was about to use tigerdirect.ca for the RAM, but they didn't like my credit card:confused: Plus, the RAM didn't have heatsinks and I need 100% uptime. So I bit the bullet, a rather large one at that, and bought the Apple RAM all 6gb of it!

lawguy: I'll check to see where it's made for sure, I'm weird that way-I always like to see where stuff comes from and the logistics of getting this computer to my door. It's unreal, I still can't believe how good FedEx and Purolator are.

Jessica. and others: I sort of briefly mentioned a company discount and what I'll do with the computer. I work at Raytheon & sometimes Honeywell working, designing and researching missile guidance systems right now. So sometimes, well all the time actually I run HUGE simulations on my workstation and to the Company's processing nodes. These simulations could theoretically go on forever because your 'answer' will just get more accurate-not definite. E.g. 3hours of processing will get you the answer of 5.4356, 24hours of processing will get you an answer of 5.43557 see where I'm going? So basically, time is of the essence, as this machine will allow me to work at home whenever I want (on my free time @home) and I can still send projects to the company's processing nodes.

gallinger: Who did you order it from? For a 2.66ghz I was quoted 1-3days.

MacDonaldsd: Why 2 Superdrives? Basically because I could, and not for much. Plus I find it really annoying when I just want to copy a mix-cd or DVD.

Mr.^2: Yeah, that's why I ordered the X1900XT separate, I didn't want to wait! I may be 30 yrs old but I'm still like a kid at Christmas!:D
