3Gs earphone volume broken?

Hi All,

I'm new to the iPhone (got my 3Gs on Tuesday) and new here too!

Since then, I've found that the volume control on my earphones seems to have stopped working. The play / stop functionality still works though. My phone did go through a phase of insisting on activating the voice control when they were plugged in, although that seems to have 'fixed' itself.

I've only used them twice while out running, so I'm wondering if there's a setting I've changed and missed or whether I've got a faulty pair of earphones that need to be taken to an Apple store.

I took it back to an Apple store today and they replaced it. It was still under the 14 day warranty.
