3Gs iOS4 not charging while switched off

Hi

I updated my 3Gs to iOS4 on release day and all went well. I put my phone in the dock as normal and it bleeped to say charging. I always switch my phone off over night while charging but both nights it's has not charged while switched off. We have 2 3Gs in the house and both are doing it. Any one know if this is a new setting or a bug? Is anyone else getting this.

my phone is bloody warm after upgrading.

after a certain percentage, it refuses to charge? wtf.
