3GS Jailbreak and then app install crash?

hello all, im fairly new to this sort of thing. i mean ive had my ophone 3gs 2 days lol.

Anywhow, here's my problem ive used blackra1n and jailbroken my 3gs now if i use rock or cydia it all goes well... its installed but then when i try and install any apps... its ok... but it says reboot so i click reboot and then when the iphone turns back on... im in horror because the usb lead and itunes image is displayed and i have to restore again and again and again...

any ideas?

Yes, your phone has the new 3GS bootrom. Everytime you have to restart or reboot your phone, it will go to that screen. You will need a computer, USB cable and copy of Blackra1n to run again to get the phone working again.

It's called a tethered jailbreak. You can Google for more info.
 
so.. everytime i install an app ie reboot or shut down my iphone i have to plug it into my pc n reinstall jailbreak?

Yes, if your phone locks up and needs restarted/rebooted or you install something from Cydia which requires a reboot, you will have to re-JB with Blackra1n.

It's called a tethered jailbreak.
 
ok, so i jailbreak my iphone... install weather board and then it reboots...i jailbreak again it works ... happy days... but what happens if i turn my phone off cause the battery died? will i have to jailbreak again lol

Yes. Every reboot, every time the battery dies, etc. you'll have to rejailbreak.

Now you're getting it! Tethered jailbreak sucks, but that's your only current option with the new bootrom. Sorry bout that!
 
help me! please!

So, I installed the jailbreak blackra1n on my computer had a successful jailbreak for all of about 24 hours.....then I decided I was going to be a smart guy and try to get weatherboard to work despite what I had read.(i'm a moron, I know)
anywho, phone is completely dead as of right now. I plugged it into itunes to do a restore and itunes is telling me that I am not connected to the internet which obviously isn't true seeing as how I am typing here...I can get it to go back into brick mode, but nothing happens from there. I tried to see if perhaps running the break on it in that mode would do something, but it never comes back from the reboot. So, phone wont reboot and I can't restore. anyone have any suggestions???:confused:

Do you men Winterboard ?

Not enough info, is this a new 3GS ?

If so, you probably have a tethered jailbreak which means after installing Winterboard you had to reboot so you needed to run Blackra1n again.
 
i just noticed that I wrote weatherboard. oops.
yeah, its a fairly new 16g s. I got it in august. I can't get the phone to actually reboot. it'll come to the screen with the apple logo on it, and after about 6 seconds it goes completely black on me again
 
still got nothing. my itunes is still saying that it cant contact the update server because i am not connected to the internet. As far as blackra1n goes, I take the iphone into DFU mode and run the break again. The issue with this not working is that the actual phone will not reboot. I imagine if i could get my itunes to work that I could at least restore the phone and start all over. has anyone else found anything about the itunes issue? or had the issue themselves? it's driving me absolutely insane right now that I somehow can not figure out how the hell to get this to work for me. I've been all over the net and can't seem to find the correct solution.
