3GS. On 3.0, wanting 3.1. Don't care about unlocking it

So I think I know the answer but figure I'd ask... Have a 3GS and unlocked/jailbroken on 3.0. Want to upgrade to 3.1 and don't care about any future unlocking since i'm on AT&T anyways. Safe to assume that I need to wait for the official 3.1 pawnage tools to upgrade to 3.1 on the GS?

If you don't care about unlocking only but care about jailbreaking then you still have to wait for dev-team to comeout with the hack. If you don't care about unlocking or jailbreaking then go to iTunes and upgrade to 3.1

ECID SHSH on file does nothing wrt to upgrading to 3.1. it is only useful if you upgraded to 3.1 by mistake and want to downgrade to 3.0.

to JB 3GS on 3.1, you need to wait for the dev team to release new tools. based on recent twits, it seems this is not far away
