Hello all, I got given a iPhone 3gs from a friend as my 5s packed in and i have to wait till payday to get my 6plus.

So when I turnt it on it was fine but i wanted to wipe everything off it so i erased content and settings and when i tried to activate it, no sims would work nor would Using itunes. I restored, tried to downgrade the software, jailbreak it, you name it. So I don't know what i can do to fix it.

This is the deviceinfo from redsn0w:

plzplz help me :p

I wasn't told or aware if it was previously jailbroken to be honest,
~They just had so much crap on it, i thought it would be easier to erase ;[

If it wont activate with your sim then most likely its a locked to a specific carrier.
Maybe he had it software unlocked with ultrasnow.
I'd return it to him and get your money back if you cant use it.

Do you have the full serial number so you can determine if the baseband can be restored with the ipad baseband then back. OR we need much more info about the phone. If it was jailbroken, then there is a good chance cydia may have some shsh's since that goes back to the make my life easy days... The thing is IF those cydia saved SHSHs are any good as many were not.
what is the current baseband at?

What ever you do, it may be best not to restore without saving your current baseband via custom until you figure out what it is at
