3GS stuck in restore loop after failed restore attempt to 3.1.2

Hi Everyone,
I couldnt find the solution to this so please read on....
I have a 3GS that restored to a 3.1.2 via pwange custom fw. The phone was ok except that apps from iTunes would not start...(Cydia apps worked ok). So I wanted to redo the restore. I put it in the DFU and point iTunes to the custom ipsw and then I get "This device isn’t eligible for the requested build"...now it is stuck in the boot loop, all i get is the pineapple for a second and then russian "steved" screen

What can I do to fix this and still keep my 04.26.08 bb.

Apple isn't signing the 3.1.2 IPSW anymore so you can't restore to it. Did you save 3.1.2 SHSH in Cydia ? You can restore thru Saurik's method in DFU mode.

Or if you don't have a tethered jailbreak and you can get your phone into recovery mode, make or find a custom restore 3.1.2 IPSW and option+click restore then choose that one, not 3.1.3.
