3GS Tethering on 3.0.1

I installed the at&t 5.0 ipcc file. MMS works perfectly. But I can't get the tethering to work. Yes, I did the help.ben.at, too.

Number 1, the phone doesn't recognize the BT connection even though it's paired. I want to tether via BT using 3G. I can tether via cable. I'm using a macbook.

Number 2, when I connect the cable, the phone syncs for a second to verify it, then unloads the tethering option.

Any ideas??

Oh, and yes, I know this is a "hack" per se and all the blah blah about AT$T. I'm just asking for help. No need to flame or Apple this, AT$T that.

Mac or PC? Tethering via Wi-Fi, or USB? The method is different for each.
