Hi,

We have around 30 imacs at our office and for what ever reason i have seen this issue 3 times now.

Normally a Archive and Install corrects the fault, but on the 3rd machine it has come back. To pin the problem down, it ran yesterday fine with 10.5.0, but after the 10.5.5 update today it's happened again.

The first time i called Apple regarding this issue, they said it was a software fault and to wipe and reinstall. The Boot cd never had screen corruption.

Oh, and to remove the corruption you just need to open a window and use it like an eraser to cure the problem!

I cant believe it's just me with this issue, so can anyone comment on the problem in hand?

Thanks all

Darren

Fixed it!

Removed the com.apple.desktop.plist preference from USER>LIBRARY>PREFERENCES

and removed all items from desktop.

Apparently happens with messy desktops!! Makes sense now, al the machines i worked on had terrible desktops!

Question about different screen corruption

This week my imac has had two bouts of weird screen behavior. The letters in the menu bar start to go missing. Example: Fi ef x Fi Ed Vie His ory Bo k mar s
Then, letters all over the desktop start to go missing. When I reboot the problem clears up, but it has happened twice in one week, so I'm wondering if this is going to get worse. Do I need to delete a preference or do some memory cleaning??
