So with many os us testing iOS 13, like many of you all I love dark mode, which sucks to have to launch all the apps that are not embedded in iOS since the apps do not support dark mode.

Do you all anticipate many of the 3rd party apps (Especially the larger common ones) to support Dark Mode?

Id hate to think that it will only be native within the iOS system

Of course they will. Apple made a big deal about how there was an API was available + the fact that developers can use the Dark Mode API on macOS.

The reason there aren't any apps that use it right now is because during beta periods, Apple doesn't allow apps to update to support new APIs and features of the betas (though they can update to allow for compatibility). Once iOS 13 comes out in the fall, developers will be able to update their apps to support dark mode.

Gotcha, Thank you!! I did not know that the app developers could not implement it into their apps yet until the full iOS13 came out. I honestly figured developers could go ahead and add it during Beta to those of us testing everything could supply feedback, etc

Well, some apps already incorporate Dark or Night Mode in their app. I kind of like the idea to change which apps to have a Dark theme and which doesn't.

If apps implement to when I switch on Dark Mode that it's system wide... idk, I'm sure they would have an override in their settings.

Developers can invite people through TestFlight to test beta applications if they so choose.

I noticed You Tube already has it, I did not realize that, I set it on my iPad and iPhone. So thats one down lol.

There will still be lots of apps that have devs too lazy to implement it. Look how long smart invert has been around and still most apps don't support it, that was the closest to dark mode we had for years.

Smart Invert wasn't supported by many developers because it wasn't supposed to be used to be dark mode. Very few developers had incentive to work with it since it only existed to be an accessibility feature for those hard of vision.

I don't buy that. Sure officially it wasn't dark mode, but it worked surprisingly well. From what I've been told it's relatively easy to implement. Even if you do look at it your way that makes them that much lazier that they didn't want to support those hard of vision. Yeah I know they are going to go where the money is, and the majority of their customers most likely don't have vision issues, I get that. But as someone with no vision issues I find a glaring white on off white theme horrible, especially in the dark or at night, it's very hard on the eyes.

Edison mail app will, i got a reply from them today saying its in development.

(Im still wondering about all those other apps like Tweetbot etc that had dark mode for years before iOS 13...)
