Where the air is crisp
I am looking to get an external keyboard for my 12"PB, but the standard Apple keyboard is kind of pricey IMHO. I still wanted to get something 'tidy', none of those gaudi 'ergo' contraptions :)

Is there any reason to get a specific Mac made keyboard (eject key ?) or could I just use any PC USB keyboard ? I guess the alt-key can replace the command-key ?
thanks

Believe it or not, CompUSA is very Mac friendly when it comes to accessories. When I was in last week to get a new keyboard, I saw at least a dozen choices (all with Command keys :D ) Of course, I would never think of taking away from the beauty of my computer, so I ended up with an Apple keyboard. I almost went wireless, but the price did turn me away.

There's no reason to get a Mac KB w/ the eject button and apple button if you can get an USB KB, any USB KB for less. F12 is the eject button, you should know by now.

thanks for the quick replies. I'll make sure to check out the CompUSA store out here. I know, there is a lot of things I should know by now... I guess that is a start, right ? :)

Well...

I saw you asked for inexpensive, otherwise I would direct you to the Matias Tactile Pro. I just bought a 3-month used one from eBay, and it's wonderfull. If you liked the feel of the springy Apple Extended Keyboard II from around 1990, the Tactile Pro is for you. I've only been using it for about 3 days, and I'm hooked on it. Apple should offer an upgrade keyboard with ALPS switches, because it actually helps you type faster.

Just a thought.
