All iPads 3rd party pencils/ styli

has anybody had any experience of third-party styli? Not the rubber tipped ones, but the cheap ones on Amazon that resemble Apple pencils like this one. that work with the newer iPads

No experience to share, but I would not use a cheap product on a somewhat expensive iPad.

Spent hundreds already, atleast get something like a Logitech crayon that’s designed to work with them

If I didn’t find a Apple Pencil on Craigslist, I was leaning towards the Logitech Crayon. Wouldn’t think of using anything else. The only thing I saved money on was buying a sleeve to fit my 12.9”

I bought the Adonit Note for my wife to use on her 2018 iPad. It works exactly the same as the Logitech Crayon but in a more sleek pen form-factor and was only $35 on Amazon. Although I have an Apple Pencil for my 2018 iPad, I was thinking of getting one for myself because I like the ability to use it without the need to pair it.

I have an adonit pixel that I bought when I had my air 2. It was about £60. It has pressure sensitivity and palm rejection but it’s dependent upon whether the app supports it. It’s not system wide like the Apple Pencil. However if your iPad supports the Apple Pencil then I don’t see much point in getting a third party stylus. The Apple Pencil is the best for the iPad.

Nothing comes even close to the Pencil (except maybe the Crayon if you don’t care about pressure sensitivity). If you’re going to get a stylus and your iPad supports it - get the Pencil.

As other have said, nothing comes close to the pencil. The pencil is phenomenal and works a different way than third party styluses.

I looked at the product page and the description reads as if they've reverse engineered the Logitech Crayon. The Crayon doesn't have to be paired either and it only works on 2018 iPads and newer running iOS 12.2+. If you do buy one, I'd be very interested in your review.

Thanks for the tip! I have the Crayon and I love it but this looks much more elegant. Not needing to pair is super convenient as I've recently been marking up PDFs on two iPads simultaneously which is so easy to do with the Crayon. The Apple Pencil, I'd need to have one for each and needing to swap Pencils is a pain during markup.

Just get the Logitech Crayon.

I love a great bargain, I got my first gen Apple Pencil for $50 off of Craigslist complete in box with the Lightning dongle and extra tip.

Write something in cursive that requires you to dot your i and cross your t letters. Comparing my 3 non-Apple stylus to my Apple Pencil pointed out immediately why the pencil was so much better.

With the non-Apple devices, the dots and crosses were nowhere near accurate. With the pencil, the dots and crosses are exactly where you’d expect them to be.

I've done that with the Logitech Crayon and Adonit Note... they are just as accurate as the Apple Pencil. Those two non-Apple styli are not like the other ones.

The Logitech Crayon works just as well as the Apple Pencil for this in my experience. This uses the same tech as Apple Pencil except it's lacking pressure sensitivity and double tap.
