hi

I have read that many people are experiencing system freezes (1-2 seconds) with a SSD on their MBP

i was wondering if the issue also occurs on a Mac Mini with 3rd party SSD ?

thx

I can't answer your question, but my immediate thought is that these things are an optional extra fitted when ordering a 2011 direct from the Apple store.. So, I would be asking what model Apple are supplying and then buying the same.. no doubt much cheaper from Amazon. (or similar)

My guess is that just as the supplied HD in my mini is pretty generic, The optional SSD is equally so.

Only issue I've heard like that at all is that old-firmware SSDs have wake-from-sleep delays or issues. Fixed with a firmware version released in that past year, though.

No issues with OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G, OWC Mercury Extreme Pro, OCZ Vertex 3 MAX IOPS (2.15), OCZ Vertex 3 (2.15), and Samsung 830. In fact, on Mac mini server has pairs of the last three drive mentioned all currently connected and in use thanks to LaCie Thunderbolt Little Big Disk. Gotta love Thunderbolt :D

First I put a 160GB SSD in my MBP 17" but removed it once the MBP went to my wife. Since the it's working in a MacMini with Lion server on it. Love it.

Hi,
I'm using a OZC Vertex 3 SSD for 6 month now - never had any problem...
(Macmini 2011 and MPB 2011)

Hi,
I'm using a Corsair SSD for a year now - never had any problem...

The mac mini is a few motnhs old

Therefore either you have an early 2011 model or a late 2010, so you are not affected by the problem ;)

Ok thanks i'm gonna go for a OWC or a intel to be sure i won't have any issue
