I've had a 3rd party wireless charging receiver in my iPhone case to enable wireless charging for a while now (ie. over a year at least) which has worked fine. Since 11.3 (or maybe 11.3.1) the phone now refuses to charge wirelessly. I've even tried swapping the wireless charging pad for another.

On occasion I can get the charging to start, and then a message about the accessory 'might' not be supported. Could be a quirk, but it seems Apple may have started blocking 3rd party wireless charging pads for some reason.

Anyone else??

I have similar receiver and it works just fine on 11.3, I get 'Accessory not supported' only if I misplace phone on a charger so maybe your receiver is broken and provides too low current for charging.

Conspiracies are fun, but the phone wouldn't have any way to know. More likely your accessory has died, since right now (a) any number of people are using wireless charging, (b) there are no first-party wireless chargers.

It's not an authorized MFi accessory, so the message is expected.

Generally, with each iOS update, more non-authorized devices get detected with a warning message. It's a cat and mouse game between Apple and non-authorized accessory makers.

Except that two different wireless receivers, tested with three different wireless chargers, all started failing at once. All worked fine prior to most recent updates. Also a separate iPhone X charges fine on each of the chargers. The odds of coincidence are considerably lower.

Oh, and as much as I love Apple, we've just seen a situation where they were blocking 3rd party equipment... Screen replacements in that case. It's certainly not outside the realm of possibility that they've changed something.

One more thing... The phone does, in fact, know... The wireless receiver is plugged in via the lightning connector!

I have tried to charge my iPhone X with my wireless charger today and I noticed that the iPhone wont charge, and yea it worked perfectly before iOS 11.3.1. I will test it properly later today and come back to post.

Very odd, but suddenly my iPhone X is refusing charge - both wirelessly and when plugged in. When on the wireless charger the charge symbol comes up and the phone vibrates, but battery keeps dropping so it clearly isn't charging. When plugged in it does nothing at all - no charge indicator. I've restarted but no difference at all. (Note the original issue raised above related to an iPhone 6 with a wireless charging receiver to allow it to charge wirelessly.)

This is starting to suggest a charging issue in iOS 11.3 to me.

No issues here, charging iPhone 8 Plus on belkin Wireless charger.

Thanks. Nothing I tried was resolving the issue yesterday, so as the battery was rapidly draining I ended up installing the latest beta. It immediately resumed charging.

I can't definitively say it was 11.3.1, but the fact that it suddenly started on two different phones seems a bit suspect.

Same issues for me on my 6 plus I rolled back to ios 11.3 while I could as it would not let me use my wireless case either
