Hi everyone.. first post! 😀

I need some expertise. I have a late 2012 iMac with a 3TB fusion drive I'd like to replace with an SSD. I also have a 2010 iMac I'd like to sell that has a failed HDD. Any reason I couldn't put the fusion drive from the 2012 into the 2010? Anything special I'd need to do? The 2010 has High Sierra and the 2012 has Mojave currently. Thanks!

"Any reason I couldn't put the fusion drive from the 2012 into the 2010?"

Probably impossible.
The fusion "drive" is actually TWO drives, a small blade-based SSD and a "regular" platter-based hard drive. I doubt the 2010 model has the corresponding ports on the motherboard to accommodate them.

Just wondering... if you use the BlackMagic Speed Test... what kind of read/write speeds does the 3tb fusion drive give you right now...?

Unless the fusion drive is slowing WAY down, I'd probably just leave it alone on the 2012 iMac. It's now 7 years old, going on 8, and "money you spend on the computer" may be best used to buy a replacement in the next year or two.

My opinion only.
