MP 1,1-5,1 4,1/5,1 and Big Sur?

Hello,

I haven't been around for a while and Im still running Mojave with out problems.

Is a Big Sur upgrade recommended?

Should I just wait?

yeah I am in the same boat, surprised that I got the prompt to update. But my machine has been been running odd since the prompt though.

Hi,

I upgraded to Big Sur 11.1 (from Catalina) few weeks ago and MP5.1 is working great - surprisingly it's snappier than Catalina...

One problem I noticed is that Software Update is not working and complains that it is "Unable to check for updates. make sure you are connected to the Internet" (attached).

Of course I am connected and can access any web site (including this one here), so there's something else going on. Could it be related to platform id, logic board id, etc.? I tried deleting all preferences and caches, reset NVRAM / SMC but with similar issue. Any ideas what could be wrong?

That's with the latest OpenCore 0.6.5?

I was just looking in my EFI folder (to update to 0.6.5), and noticed there is an "APPLE" folder which was not there when I was still on Catalina - it was added after upgrading the Big Sur (see attached).

Does that look ok? should I leave it or do I remove it?

Leave it, that's irrelevant, no need to touch it.

Ok left it there and updated OC to 0.6.5 - same issue... I'm attaching my config.plist, if you can take a quick look for any discrepancies I'd appreciate it... thanks!
