I'm currently JB on 4.1 and I'm considering the pros and cons of upgrading to 4.3.2 and JBing.

The only thing that I wish I could do is to Tether using TetherMe using Wifi.
Other than that, I'm not sure if there are any advantages for me to upgrade.

Thoughts?

I upgraded from 4.0.1 to 4.3.1 via PwnageTool, and it was absolutely awful. Terrible system lag, glitchy animations and poor performance. Once Redsn0w was updated for 4.3.2 I took the jump and i'm very glad I did. Much more smooth and stable than 4.3.1, and about on par with 4.0.1 for me.

I just went from JB 4.1 (1.59.00 bb) used pwnage back then, to JB 4.3.1 (kept 1.59.00 baseband) and used pwnage again. Also applied ultrasnow to get rid of the issue with 1bar cellular signal.... The setup definitely lags vs. 4.1.....

How many of you updated to 4.3.2 (pwnage or redsnow), and kept the 1.59.00 baseband? Does it lag or have any of the lag or performance issue?

I could update to the latest BB if it really gets rid of the performance issues, but I'd prefer not to, as I like to keep that option open for when I sell the iP4. I do have it under contract for another year.....so it may not matter too much as there may eventually be an unlock by then.

Thanks!

I'm on 4.3.1 and thinking about upgrading to 4.3.2 using Redsn0w. Can I still maintain my baseband by using Tiny Umbrella?

Yes, though I believe you need to use Pwnage tool instead of Redsn0w to preserve your baseband.

If you want the new features, go for it... If you don't really care about the new features, and your phone works smooth, don't. That would be my advice.

I was jailbroken on 4.0 and the phone worked very smoothly. I decided I wanted the new features with 4.3.1, so I upgraded and re-jailbroke my phone. Thing ran like absolute crap. Slow, laggy, glitchy.. It was awful.

So a few weeks later, when 4.3.2 came out, and there was a JB for it, I did it all again, and my phone is back to being smooth. I don't know if 4.3.1 is really the issue, although it was bad for a lot, fine for some.. All I can say, is that 4.3.2 has given me zero problems.

I went from 4.1 to 4.3.1 and noticed that I had some bugs related with vibration happening at random times. Updated to 4.3.2 and besides the bug being fixed I also got better battery life, so I'm quite happy

do you guys get that lag on the lockscreen when you reboot or respring where it won't slide to unlock for a while then seem to reboot? I had it on 4.3.1 and just jb on 4.3.2 and its doing the same thing

I'm on 4.1.

I haven't found a reason to upgrade yet. Besides the fact that it's a pain in the okolele to set the phone up with all my jb'd apps.

I have MyWi so the hotspot feature doesn't appeal to me.

Airplay and sharing don't matter much either since I would watch any movies I have on my plasma or macbook.

I'm thinking I just may upgrade to 4.2.1 and jailbreak. I've read quite a few threads saying 4.3.2 is buggy.

Do any of you who upgraded wish you stayed at 4.2.1?

I was on 4.1- kinda wish i stayed on it
the phone ran awesome. Zero crashes or bugs EVER... one night for the hell of it i upgraded to 4.3.1 and im regretting it a little bit. occasionally sticky home button, the vibration bug, some other anomalies, i find myself rebooting more frequently, and although rare, occasional safe mode...

if i had to do it over again id have stayed on 4.1
im gonna upgrade to 4.3.2 since ppl seem to be having better luck with that.

home sharing and hotspot are cool, as is print, but most printers arent supported, and ive lived without the other features for like 4 years.

Upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.3.2.
Haven't had any bug problems or battery problems or really any other problems so far.
I'm happy

With all the good reviews of 4.3.2 I'm gonna upgrade my phone just so that I am up to date.
Hope to have zero issues.
I do hate all the work involved in installing & configuring my phone but oh well, it's part of life I guess.
Hopefully this will be good until the next big update which will be iOS 5 whenever that comes out.

Will report back on my findings

I have a question.

Are you guys still using Mobile Terminal to change the password or has this issue been resolved in new updates?

Anything else I should install to protect myself?
