With the release of the 17" MBP the tech specs page for the MacBooks (http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/whatsinside.html) has been updated and claims a 4.5 hour battery life for the 15". Anyone get anywhere near this? I get 2.5 hours max.

I know, but that's what everyone advertises.dornoforpyros said:Awsome! 4.5/hrs of having your computer on but not using it? What an age we live in!

My thoughts too.gekko513 said:We consumers just have to be aware of it. It wouldn't make sense for Apple to advertise inferior battery life when other laptop makers with the same battery life don't.

I guess my main complaint here is that previously Apple quoted times that were reasonably close. Like they would say 5 hours and you'd go "I know I won't get 5 but I'll probably get 4". With the MBP though they are quoting 4.5 and you're lucky to get half that.
