Personally I think that’s more than enough multitasking for most people.
 
The difference between the them is that all the apps stay active on the Pros. So for example; you can scroll on them at the same time, or if something is going on, on one app, you can still see it going while using the other app.

Though if you don’t care for interacting with multiple apps at once (except for PiP) it doesn’t matter!

Nope, it is not. Just the app you have split with the other, and the PiP somewhat.

It's active even on the iPad mini. Only when slide over is activated with split screen, I can't. Otherwise I can interact with 3 apps at a time.
