could of sworn the HDD got upgraded to 5200 in rev. b

Look at it this way. Yesterday, $1799 got you a MacBook Air with a 1.6 GHz CPU and 4200 rpm HDD. Today, $1799 gets you a MacBook Air with a 2.13 GHz CPU and a 128 GB SSD.

Today was a good day for anyone who wants to spend $1799 and get a MacBook Air! Was great for people who were considering spending $1799 yesterday, as they can now get a much better MBA for the same money. Don't even consider saving $300 and buying a low end MBA... it's NOT worth it!

The 5400 rpm is livable. Anything less would be just annoying. Don't ever go for the 4200 rpm drives.

I disagree. I have the base Rev A and it's fine for my needs. As ever, buy for your needs, not somebody else's. :)

Today is a great day for all future MBA buyers! $700 discount is something we nearly all need right now! Sure, we wanted more, but the discount allows for Apple to see what the MBA is really capable of selling and how it can compete with the MBPs. If it picks up sales, the MBA could evolve in months to get the additional changes!

Sorry for those who bought the rev B recently. I have been advising not buying it as we all were hopeful for some changes. I figured the rev B would get a $500 discount on clearance, but I never figured we would get a $1799 2.13 GHz SL9600 with SSD MBA!

I am ecstatic, as I realize that $1799 is a lot better than the $3000 I would have spent for the MBA I truly desired. Right now, this MBA will be perfect for me. But if I had a rev B MBA right now, I would stick with it. I almost feel fortunate that my MBA was stolen when it was... luckily I held out for the June update... and the June update came on the 8th!

Again, Apple screws over the past generation MBA buyers. We will be seeing rev B MBAs for sale for the next year for $250 or so more than we can buy a new 2.13 GHz. People selling their used rev B's are going to think they're still worth $2200! Sucks for all those that recently bought a rev B!

Well iv been fine with the 4200rpm in my Rev B, I just always thought it was 5200 and that now they were downgrading it for the price reduction.

I didn't really notice much difference from the 7200 drive in the hackintosh I used before that, for every day tasks.
