OK... So I have some nice 22mm bands that I would like to use with my 42mm SS apple watch. I already have a click adapter on pre-order (if it ever ships!) but I'm looking for alternative options. I also have some 24mm adapters but the sliding of the band (due to the extra space) drives me nuts. I've looked with Aliexpress and eBay with no real luck.

Has anyone found an adapter, besides the click, that will properly fit 22mm bands on a 42mm watch?

I am waiting on the same exact thing. The best option for now seems to be adapters like dictoresno linked, but to me they are a PITA compared to springbar adapters.

I'm using the standard bar, not the spring bar. And my apologies, I am using a 24mm strap, not a 22.

I would like a 22mm adapter also.

Right now, I'm using a 22mm shark mesh band that I've "flared" out a little bit so it doesn't slide back and forth on the 24mm adapter.

What about these? I have one like this for my 38mm that fits a 20mm band.

I have a similar set on order via aliexpress to test. Everything I've seen regarding those point to 24mm being the best fit. They do look VERY similar to the click adapters though. Once they arrive I'll post some photos with a 22mm band.

With the exception of the click adapter, it looks like the entire market is geared towards 24mm bands. Bummer :-(

It is my understanding that the other style adapter (not spring bar) takes the 24 band and that the spring bar takes 22. For my 38mm, the spring bar will only take a 20mm band.

My spring bar/click style adapter should arrive either today or tomorrow. I'll post some photos of it with a 22mm band.

ALSO... I did find a completely different adapter lug that is specifically made for 22mm bands.

http://www.steelconnect.co/category-s/1819.htm

It has a unique, chunky style which could look good with some of my 22mm bands. I pre-ordered one today since there was a $6 discount going on. I'll post photos whenever this one comes in as well.

I've got a set of Steel Connect adapters that I used with my Moto 360 a while back. They make really quality stuff, so now that I've got the Apple Watch, I'm interested in picking up another set.

I see they're still listed as preorder. Any idea when they'll actually ship? I've searched around and checked both their Facebook page and Twitter feed and it seems the last word was that they'd ship in early September. However, I've yet to see where they've shipped at all and they still have the preorder discount in place on their website.

I thought I'd ask since you've actually ordered and see if they've given an idea of a ship date.

I'm unsure about a ship date but I'll inquire. They're an established company and already shipping products for other watches so it seemed like a somewhat safe bet that "something" will ship. At this point there are only 2 confirmed lugs that are specifically made for 22mm bands so that also influenced my gamble.

Thanks. I may go ahead and pull the trigger on a set myself. They're actually very inexpensive for the flexibility they provide and well worth the cost, in my eyes.

So my steelconnect adapters shipped! I chose the slow shipping option not thinking they would be ready so soon. I'll post photos once they arrive.

I'm very interested in seeing these.

Steelconnect seems to make some pretty good stuff.

Me too, the product picture is kind of clunky looks like the adapter is sticking way out of the apple watch,
or if they put the 42mm adapter on a 38mm watch ..

it is definitely lump... maybe if the space grays are exact the same color as the watch it would work but not if the color is even a hair different.

Had the Steelconnect for my stainless pebble steel, it was not that good as i hoped for that price then. used them only once.... (sold m with the pebble steel)

I Have the click on order (tried to cancel it allready but no response from them)

but if anyone finds a suitable black or space gray 22mm (for apple watch 42mm) adapter not so lump please let me know

The springbar adapters I ordered via Aliexpres arrived and they DO NOT fit 22mm bands properly. I was basing the purchase on one set of photos that appeared to show a 24mm band which was really tight but that was not the case when it arrived. Oh well... another set of 24mm adapters in my collection.

I'm still waiting on the CLICK adapter and the Steelconnect adapter.

The steelconnect lugs arrived today... so far... VERY impressed. They fit 22mm bands perfectly with no sliding or play. I also really dig the chunky lines to the adapter. It's noticably different than everything I've seen so far. My "only" issue is the lack of shiny stainless steel finish. The "silver aluminum" finish looks eaxcatly like it sounds.

I'll most likely order another silver one and perhaps a black one as well. I'll post some photos on Tuesday.

The hard lines and obvious protrusions really make the lug stand out from the typical adapters. I don't mind the matte/satin finish against the stainless watch and think it compliments the different direction they took. I have one other 22mm band I'd like to wear so I'll purchase at least one more set.
