+44 (0) Phone numbers IOS 15.2 bug ?

All my phone numbers start with +countrycode.

In the UK the area code starts with a 0 that is ommited when you dial from another country or you dial with the full international code.

The contacts app on the Mac even puts a (0) in the phone number.

Anyone else noticed that +44 (0)123 123456 doesn't dial any more?

Did you change your settings for 'Dial assist' ?
(Settings -> Phone -> Dial Assist; at least that's the place where it is in iOS14).

Dial assist was on, there is no difference on or off.

OMG I was literally just typing away my own thread when I found yours.

I have the EXACT same problem...

I'm using DUAL SIM with a UK and a EUROPEAN phone number and I have all my contacts saved as

+XX [country code] (0) [as prefix] XXXXXXXX [phone number].

And it stopped working, when I call from my contacts.

I tipped dial assist ON and OFF. Nothing changes. And it's the same issue for both countries.



Any help or ideas?

A relation has this issue frequently and seems to be linked to the carrier for some obscure reason. Switching the phones language setting in the region settings then switching back to uk should sort it until it goes wonky again.

Many thanks! I’ve updated and tested it… when dial assist is turned off, it still doesn’t work, but with dial assist activated it’s back working! I tested 2 numbers from different countries and so far so good! Very welcomed.
