I sold my pbook and my G5 to consolidate down to one 17" Macbook Pro. After a replacement due to a faulty sleep mechanism, I am pretty happy with the move so far. Especially, now that I've been using dual display the MBP and my 30" ACD. It is completely necessary. :D

17" MBP + 30" ACD = 47" of glorious screen real estate:

Err not really... remember that screen size is measured diagnoally. (You would need four 30" Dispays to make a 60" Display and so on.) :D

If the pic had at least some quality, it would be great, but since this was taken obviously by a cameraphone, ...

Do you really need 30 incher?? :D

Yeah, I thought the 47" Macbook Pro title would be more dramatic. That, and I was too lazy to calculate out the real measurement, or look up the pixel count.

Anyways, just thought yall might appreciate the sweetness of the set up. The girlfriend sure doesn't....

In the picture, I know what the display and the laptop are, but what's the weird blue looking thingy sitting under/near the Macbook Pro?

I believe it's his right channel speaker. You can also see the left channel in the far left of the photo. JBL Creatures I think... not sure.

JBL Creature right channel speaker. Good little speakers. They complete a nice little set up to watch a movie (or two ;) ), along w/ front row and a comfy couch along the opposite wall of the study.

Thanks.:)

And nice by the way. I'd get something like it, but I'm just a broke college student that just spent $2200 on a laptop so....

Ooops. Forgot to hide the micro$oft intellimouse. How embarrasing.

(I tried the apple mighty mouse but I couldn't stand it, and went back to the intellimouse.)

Yeah, she does sometimes, but she'd be just as happy with a 20" screen. She's not a tech geek; can't appreciate it. Kinda like when I'm asked to appreciate the difference between outfit #1 and outfit #2....
