4G works for Safari and Apps, but not Mail?

When checking for mail it says updated July 2020! at bottom, instead of 'updated just now' like it should.
It works fine on WiFi no problem, but when I'm out, I can't check my work email anymore. Same on 3G
Nothing changed and data all set to on etc. Anyone else having this problem on iPhone, or is it a server thing?

Settings>Cellular>Cellular Data On + Mail set to ON

Thanks, but it was already on, it was the first thing that came up on a search, so I really don't understand it.

Has nobody else had this problem, there are a few similar things that come up on Google searches, but none are relevant, all about switching data on, which is a given. But no other explanations, and i'd like to find out if it's phone carrier or email provider, or the actual phone, I can't narrow it down, which I think is the main problem. All settings are fine. And everything else works fine, but not the email app
