4GB and leopard

HEi,

I was wondering (for C2D No SR chipsets, ok?), Tiger is a 32 bit OS, and leopard is a 64 bit os, so 4 Gigs of ram should be visible as 4 GIGs in Leopard, besides the 3.25 Gig limitation for 32 bit OSs, no ? Or is this chipset problem somehow affects also 64 bits OSs ?

(I upgraded recently to 2 GB, MAcBook C2D, 2x1GB, maybe I should have bought 1x2GB, well they were more expensive

Any thoughts ?

Earlier Core 2 Duo machines can recognize a potential 3.3 GB (with 2 x 2 GB installed... the top 700 MB is wasted, so the practical maximum is 3 Gb with 1 x 1 Gb and 1 x 2 Gb). This is a hardware limitation.

2*2G are not in price these days, just like the 250G Hardrive.But you can never have enough RAM after all
