4GB Nano or 6GB Mini?

I recently sold my 4GB iPod Mini and an looking to replace it with something newer. I have only ever used my iPod at the gym (w/ armband) and this will continue to be its primary purpose. So here are my questions:

1. Is the iPod Nano armband from Apple as flimsy as it looks?
2. Does the armband actually fit people with bigger arms?
3. For those of you who have either of these, how long does the battery truthfully last?

I don't care if the Nano scratches easily, it is purely a music player for me.

the second generation mini's battery lasts seemingly forever. I took a 7-8 hour train trip and still had over 50% battery at the end of it.

Waiting for the nano to be more solidly built and have equal battery life to my mini before I upgrade to one.

1st Q: YEs, i've seen it...
2nd Q: i don't think it'll fit...no idea baout it...
3rd: i dunno but according to my friend, her old ipod mini has better battery life than her new nano..

I am actually leaning more towards the 6GB mini because of the documented battery life. Also, it does feel more solid to me than the Nano. But I have only played with the Nano for a few minutes in the store.

Any Nano owners have anything to say?

If that's all you use it for, why bother upgrading? A "new" mini (while they're still available) has no new features other than a change in battery life.

(1) Yes
(2) NO!!!
(3) Never had it run out... I just use it for commutes, flights, treadmill time, so I couldn't tell you. Sorry!

I have never had my previous mini skip on me. So the fact that the Nano is flash-based isn't a big deal to me.

I love my armband. I think it is rather well-constructed. :/ The nano fits snugly and I think the armband stays in place, well too.

As for fitting bigger arms; how much bigger?? I've seen some larger people use it w/out issue but surely there are people w/ arms out there who won't be able to fit it anyway.

And I haven't used my nano to the point of using up all the battery life...

No. It won't fit a 17" arm. I mean, it'll STRETCH to fit, but it'll blow out the glue around the clear plastic insert.

It's meant for smaller arms.

No, the armband seems to comfortably fit around a 15" circumference arm.

Why don't you just email them? They're still on 'pre-order' so chances are that very few members have got a hold of it to tell you.

Thanks! I didn't want to ruin your relaxation time, but I do appreciate it. I have emailed them and gotten no response. I wasn't sure if anyone had read a pre-release review of the product on some site out there.

I guess I will have to wait and see on that front.

Maybe I'm using the wrong tape measure but I have a 17" arm, and the armband is very tight and the sides blew out (the glue holding the insert). So I would strongly recommend another solution.

Thank you all for your input. I have decided to go with the 6GB iPod Mini. Prolly the better choice for me due to the frail nature of the Nano and the lack of accessories.

just curious why you never considered the shuffle? I have both a shuffle and a mini, and I use the shuffle exclusively when running and working out. It's pretty much perfect for that because it's not like I usually want to pick particular songs, and the capacity is more than enough for even the longest run/workout.
