4GB RAM for $80!?

is this tested and works with iMac?
G.Skill is an off and on brand, well known in the computer world but not exactly what one would call the best. I'd stick with the better brands, Micron, OCZ, GEiL, Mushkin, and so on.
OCZ PC2-6400 4GB is only $110, it's not like you're going to break the bank. Really is no advantage to going with PC2-6400 memory except for a slight chance that if Macs set the CAS latency off SPD, which I'm not sure of, but it's the same price as PC2-5300 so I guess there is no harm in trying because if it does, it will increase performance a tad.

Crucial is Micron. OWC has the same thing for $109.00 right now, not sure what Crucial is charging.
EDIT: Crucial wants $159.99 for the same exact memory modules that OWC wants $109 for, hmmm what to go with?

Awesome deal if you hope you're going to get the money back from the rebate, I've stopped doing those rebate offers a long time ago, after I lost out from a dozen of rebates from various companies and they wouldn't do jack about it, like the $100 that Samsung owed me for an LCD

P.S Yes I know Crucial "is" Micron. None the less nobody calls it Micron Memory.
I'm waiting a few more weeks when 4GB kit is $10 haha, by the looks of it, I wouldn't doubt if it becomes that cheap.
$100?? ouch! yeah, i would be pissed too. i've been doing pretty good with rebates especially from frys. i am really tempted to pull the trigger on that deal but i need to save money for christmas presents
Woweeee! Ram has gotten so cheap these days. I bought my new iMac in September and purchased 4GB ram for $210.00 from 4allmemory.com and that was a good deal then and now just a couple of months later it's under $100.00

Apple charges a king's ransom for every BTO option on every computer they have, because they are hoping people will be stupid enough to buy it. As an informed consumer, I find their BTO pricing highly insulting. It will be a cold day in hell before I give Apple $400.00 for an x1900xt or $323 for a 500 gig hard drive. Or $250 for a 200 MHz speedbump on a Macbook Pro.
They just need the money...
Also, nothing wrong with G.Skill. They are not an unknown brand, I have a few sets of their RAM for my PC and have had less issues with them than with the OCZ RAM. I don't know if the same can be said for how it runs on Macs...

Not that I don't believe you, but is there *proof* that it is really Micron memory? I googled around but couldn't find anything....
Oh, and where is the info that if you use Paypal you will get 20% off? I couldn't find that either....I even almost went through with purchasing it through paypal just to find it, but to no avail
Just a guess, but I'd expect module-makers like Transcend to use whatever
components are cheap and available. Might be Micron this week, something
else next week. Not necessarily a bad sign, the chip makers all have good
QA. The quality/reputation of the module-assembler is more important --
SODIMM circuit boards and other components are NOT all created equal.
