Hello folks,

I just received a new 14" M1 MacBook Pro for my new job.

I'm researching port replicators or docks or adapters so that I can more easily use this computer with my 4K LG monitor and various accessories. It would also be nice to have 1Gb ethernet on the device.

I plan to put the MacBook on a mounting pedestal along with my monitor so the USB-C charging port cable needs to be long enough to do this.

4K/60hz is key as 30hz is trash. Perfect world I would have the ability to connect two displays down the road.

Looking for recommendations. There are dozens if not 100+ of these devices on the market and the choices are somewhat overwhelming.

Thanks!

What you likely want is a Thunderbolt 3/4 dock. This will rule out a huge number of subpar USB-C only devices.

CalDigit and OWC are great options.

I use the razor thunderbolt 4 dock and it's great. I connect to my studio display and gb ethernet, and some storage peripherals etc etc
