I just want your guys opinion, if I get this new fancy iMac, will I get serious buyers remorse next year?

To clarify, I will get buyers remorse only if and when they release a 4K iMac...

This is a first world problem of its finest.
thanks for understanding :D

I know all computers will move forward achitecture wise in the future, but this iMac was actually really almost all I wanted in a computer.

It has the superfast IO, thunderbolt and USB 3 which makes it very future proof, it is frankly gorgeous and will likely be my entertainment center very soon.

Unlike many here, I don't have any love for moving parts and I know how to get my entertainment without moving little discs around.

For creating videos, I think YouTube/Vimeo is more than plenty for creating gorgeous video, and I believe in giving things away for free and making more money that way anyway, at the very least more people will be able to watch what you create which is all I want anyway...

The large gorgeous screen is my only gripe, I want to get up close and personal and not see any hint on pixels, it's nitpicky as hell I know, and I know I'm looking at an old iMac where I never think anything but "darn, this is a gorgeous display!"

I guess the choice of screen is here, and I could just go for a retina MacBook and get that, but I want a big ass screen that would also be useful for watching movies...

Don't expect Apple to give up on Retina, though—we will almost certainly see a retina-DPI iMac in the future.
So I guess I will eventually get buyers remorse, the consensus over at reddit however seems to be that retina iMac is at least two years away...
