Can anyone with an XS or XS Max please confirm if it now supports playback of 4k video files within the Files app.

My iphone 6 plus plays 1080 video fine within the Files app but is unable to play 4k video files. Wondering if maybe this is enabled in the more powerful, newer devices now that 4k video recording is commonplace.

With the Files app’s ‘quicklook’ now available to use within Siri shortcuts, 4k compatibility would be even more helpful.

Thanks!

This is possible if you use compatible video for Apple video player.

I also use the Apple Notes app and have there all my recorded videos from the Apple Camera app stored + other compatible video files and music files (mp3).

If I have incompatible videos for Apple video player. I use external app the supports video playback e.g File Manager, free*

*I got the tip from here.
