My coworker and I both recently got riMacs at work and I have had one at home for a while now (yeah, I know, it must be nice) and we are both dissatisfied with using 1080 monitors next to the iMac.

Eventually, we want to get 4K monitors for second screens, but I wanted to hear about the experience of those of you who already have done so. Here is the question.

Have you been able to get the UI to be approximately the same size between the iMac and the monitor? With my 1080 monitor everything is of course bigger when you drag it to that monitor than it is when you view it on the iMac. Have any of you been able to have them be the same, or is that only possible with a 5K monitor?

I was assuming that with a 4K display the preference pane would allow you to make the text and UI bigger just like you can on the iMac. Should I wait for a 5K monitor to get cheap enough or will I be able to get a 4K to work like I want with my iMac?

Thanks for your help.
