I apologize if this has been mentioned..

Has anyone had any success? The Netflix App in Bootcamp does do 4k. but there are many times Id rather stay in OSX and still get 4k .

I'm using a 2018 Mac mini, i5 with an AMD 580 eGPU. Connected by Display Port to an LG Ultra 4k monitor.

Thank you!

Netflix does not support UHD in MacOS.

It remains to be seen if they allow it after Catalina ships using whatever new frameworks Apple is using for UHD iTunes Movies, but I would not expect them to do so for the betas, and it's not even clear if those frameworks are publicly available for others to use. They're certainly not documented.

(Also, I would not expect EGPU support for this, ever.)

Which version of Windows 10 are you running? I tried installing 1903 via Bootcamp and nothing I do get's Netflix to play in 4K... it errors out in Edge and the app only shows "HD"....

It hit me up for the Plan when we got Our 4 K Living Room TV. It May be that Windows sees the Kaby Lake chips differently on different Macs. Just a Guess. I did have a bit of an issue when the App wouldn't take my login. A call to Netflix reset it and they confirmed 4k. The Customer Service is great. The new Version of Microsoft Edge will be based on Chrome .. so it is losing any special differences it previously had.
Another thing that may be different, The GPU in my eGPU sports HDCP over DP and negotiates a content lock on the external 4 k monitor.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE AN ISSUSE IN 2019! Every modern operating system should effortlessly support modern standards!

Hope this helps.

Apple's official line from the Catalina press release is: "4K, 4K HDR, 4K Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and HDR10 content is available on all Mac models introduced in 2018 or later with 4K-resolution screens".

Intrigued to see where this applies...
