4k video editing on Apple Mac Pro "NEHALEM" 2.8GHz?

I own a Apple Mac Pro "NEHALEM" 2.8GHz (Mid 2010)

Model identifier: 5,1

My current specs are:
- One 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" processor
- 3GB OWC DDR3 ECC SDRAM Memory
- 1TB Hard drive
-ATI Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB GDDR5

Is it possible to upgrade it for 4k video editing?

I have a budget of $1,500 but could potentially go up to $2,000

I have a 5,1 upgraded to a hex core W3690 and dual AMD 7950 video cards. I can edit 4K files from my Panasonic LX100 nicely. (I don't even need to transcode first in Final Cut Pro X.)
Upgrade the ram to 16 gigs. Get a SSD as your boot drive and use your current drive as your project drive. Try obtaining some 4K footage and see how your system works. I think, a faster Open CL type video card might be more important than the CPU upgrade with Final Cut Pro X. The Hex core upgrade is really nice though. Any time the files render, Final Cut Pro X leverages the power of the Open CL video cards.
